Build up to the Wings over Swartkop SAAF Museum Air Show



The SAAF Museum Airshow will be taking place on Air Force Base Swartkop In Valhalla on the 6-7 May 2016 and it promises to be a treat for all aviation enthusiasts. 

Friday 6 May  

As the one of the aims of the SAAF Museum Airshow is to promote aviation awareness amongst the youth of South Africa an aviation carrer day will be held on the Friday preceding the show, Mango Airlines and a number of flight schools will be in attendance to advise the youth on the all possible carrer paths in the aviation industry. Scholars from various schools around the greater Gauteng area will be bused to the event. 

Saturday 7 May (Showday)

Gates will be opening on at 6H00 the morning of the show the official programme will commence at 9H00 as is expected to end at 17H00.

As the theme is "Celebrating Aviation through the Ages" Many past and prestent War Birds will be on display both flying and static, theses include thirteen aircraft from the SAAF Museum historic flight. Many War Birds now in private hands will also be in attendance including the Atlas Cheetah and P51 Mustang. The SAAF have also made available aircraft from all their platforms but these will be subject to operational availability. Private aerobatics teams will also be in attendance to wow the spectators.

A few things to keep in mind 


No weapons
NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED
Cooler boxes allowed.
No Gazebo's allowed - but will delay entry due to security checks.
There is Disabled parking (See map at end of post)
Gates open at 7 am, Show starts 9 am and ends 5 pm.
Ticket prices R 80 for adults, children under the age of 16 admitted at no cost.
Buy tickets at CompuTicket, Checkers or at the gate.
Express queue at the gate for pre-bought tickets.

Tshwane bus service form Pretoria Station (CBD) between 6 am and 6 pm
